It's a new month, so a new wave of campaigns are launching.
FranknJohn describes itself as a smash 'em up.
See No Evil is an isometric puzzle game with a pitch video I was impressed with. The project page itself needs more info about the game.
Mechagami is from the developer of the Chrontotron flash game. It might come to Ouya.
Bearzerkers is a multiplayer arena game which calls itself a spiritual successor to their game Pandamonium. I was confused because there is a game called Panademonium on the PlayStation.
Skara The Blade Remains is another multiplayer arena game. The name was familiar, so a search found a previous campaign made with a different account.
Reading Rainbow's campaign has been generating a lot of news. It is on its way to making $4 million.
I've been considering pulling my pledge from Beast's Fury. I have a bad feeling about the project's viability. The framerate they want may be just too much work and I dislike how the campaign is being managed.
Crowdcharts is a site that has hourly tracking of Kickstarter campaigns. A feature I like is the tiers split. Because it already has breakdowns by reward tier, it would be interesting if it could implement a system like my graphs to show growth for individual reward tiers.

He hasn't stated explicitly, but you all KNOW Matt is backing Reading Rainbow
.

Lobster - as always, thanks for the kickstarter links.
I was excited about the Reading Rainbow kickstarter, but then I read this article, which sapped some of my enthusiasm. LeVar Burton responded to it here, which restores my confidence, but I would feel better about it if it were a non-profit company...
Maybe I'll still back the project, but it seems like it doesn't need my help! It's doing amazingly, which is great!

Do you watch "Community" Matt? LeVar makes an awesome cameo on it.
I'm excited about Perseus 230, a spiritual successor to Star Fox (one of the greatest shooters of all time, save Retro/Grade)

I do watch community, and LeVar's Cameo was awesome. He also hosted the IndieCade awards when Retro/Grade was nominated, and he seemed really passionate about games as well as Reading Rainbow.
Perseus 230 looks cool although it seems extremely unlikely that it'll make its funding goals. :-/ I do love Star Fox!

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.
E3 is happening, so most project creators who do their research will be staying away until it is over. There have been some campaigns launching recently.
HomeMake is visually one of the more interesting game projects on Kickstarter right now. Its big obstacle is how to explain the gameplay to newcomers in convincing way. Like SumoBoy I wonder if it will find its audience.
Paparazzi is a two player game with one as a celebrity escaping to a limo while the other player is trying to snap pictures. Son of Leo is another small pixel art game. Both campaigns don't look like they will make it. Son of Leo has a project thumbnail that doesn't impress.
Deadskins is an interesting idea for a game with undead native Americans and neon glowing shapes. The campaign is poorly structured with little chance of making its goal. I still found it to be one of the more interesting campaigns I've seen this year because of how unique it feels.

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.
Those are some cool looking projects! Thanks for passing the along.
Deadskins seems interesting but it has a HUGE goal, and the project said they are looking for an experienced programmer, which is a huge red flag. Finding the right person is SUPER hard, and if you don't have them when you post your project, there is no guarantee you'll find them...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.
Catlateral Damage is a first-person cat simulator. I saw it mentioned just now in Neverending Nightmares' most recent update. The devs did a good job promoting the campaign before launch.
Midora is a 2D action adventure game that has relaunched. The presentation has improved.
Glitch is a turn-based RPG. Go to the gameplay preview view first instead of the pitch video. The music they played there is catchy and I also really liked the character write-ups. The problem with this campaign is currently the pitch and project thumbnail don't convey much info about the game itself.
A lot of the smaller video game projects on Kickstarter have stalled out right now.

Twin Souls: The Path of Shadows is a 3rd person stealth game with a strong art style. It is one of the more impressive campaigns that launched.
The creators of The Path now have a project launch called Sunset. The pitch video was difficult for me to watch. It has had a strong launch with close to 500 backers already.

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.
I enjoyed the Path, but I do agree with you that the pitch video for Sunset was painful. The tone seems to be a very poor fit for their serious artsy game... Still, the game seems really interesting.
