Hmmm... I just posted my first developer diary about the game, and I'll probably do a few more since it's so long, but I'm not having the same experience as the guy on uproxx.
I'm on mission 8 out of 18, and I don't find it to be super scary or tense thus far. I will save the explanation for a developer diary. It is frustrating even on easy, and I wouldn't say it's fun, but I don't think it's a bad game either. While I complained Dead Space was an action horror game (and I prefer my horror pure), I think the tension/atmosphere was better in that game. Obviously, it comes down to personal preference. It turns out some people didn't appreciate Neverending Nightmares, which is one of the greatest horror games ever made. ;-P
