because of my insomnia, I usually try to go back to sleep whenever I wake up. After a while, if I fail to fall back to sleep, I'll just get up - usually earlier than I would like. As much as I'd like to remember my dreams, I think waking up and trying to frantically copy down what I remember about my dreams would probably wake me up for good. I think sleep is more precious to me at this point. :-/

I've heard of people using light-up pens so they don't even have to get out of bed. But even if you just take notes on the occasions when you can remember something after getting up, you might get better at remembering with time.

I usually put everything in OneNote, which syncs to my phone, PC, and tablet, but I keep my phone by my bedside at night, so maybe I'll start entering what I remember in the morning.
