Matt, I'm sure this is not feasible at all, but I have a two tiered suggestion, and one of them is optional.

So I've been totally into the Nintendo amiibo thing lately. Like, I love them so much.

A.) I think if you made something similar to an amiibo for the game, it would be awesome (this might need to be in like a $250+ tier though...I imagine it would be really expensive).

B.) OR if you want to go ALL out, maybe port the game to Wii U/3DS and see if you can make them actual amiibo.

I seriously doubt you could do either of these (and B is even LESS probable than A)...but that would be so damn cool if you could.

:)

Well, we are possibly going to make a little mini-bust of the manananggal that is hand painted in the $500 tier. It will probably be similar in size to the amiibos although it will just the character's head and shoulders. Amiibos are usually full body, right? I actually don't have any, so I'm not quite sure what they are like. Our bust is not going to have a NFC chip in it though.

I don't think there is any way of B happening. I don't think Nintendo wants to put our monsters in Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. hahaha

yeah really to do the amibo's route you'd want to have someone design the creature or figure in 3dsmax or some similar 3d program and then ship it to a company like SHapeways

http://www.shapeways.com/support/pricing/?li=t_menu

So they can do a run of the design. I don't know their cost, but they have a free estimator if you upload a file to them. You would still have to think about possibly painting it afterwards, or just print it in a material that looks nice.

otherwise.. for small dev's like Matt thats completely unrealistic an expectation to have. though it WOULD be neat to see.

Joe 3D printed a Retro/Grade ship (I thought it was with shapeways, but I don't remember). I think it was maybe $250 for a tiny thing and the outer surface was like sandpaper. You don't get much in the way of economy of scale with 3D printing either.

On the other hand, Adam created a Retro/Grade ship, and it looks amazing. (Unfortunately, it is still packed somewhere in a box, so I can't take a picture of it) There is an economy of scale since he uses a mold. He does have to hand paint them, but I think that would make it feel more like a work of art rather than a simple toy. We are hoping to front load some of that work, so we can provide a picture of more or less what you'll be getting at that level.

Neither will be like an amiibo, but we are doing the best we can. :)
