Wondering when you get your fabulous t-shirts, posters, art books, etc? The short answer is not for a while, The long answer is in this developer diary:

Considering how confusing the final moments of the Kickstarter were, it might be a good idea to give people another survey/list of options for rewards once they are on the horizon/it's clear what sorts of rewards may become available (already predicted, new/unexpected, not possible/cancelled) etc., including what varieties of pins, postcards etc. (as the Kickstarter page merely denoted possible designs. I at least put a bunch more money in without having a clear idea of what further rewards I might get.

We'll definitely be delivering the rewards as promised - nothing is canceled. :) We'll do votes on the designs for the buttons and maybe some of the other physical rewards as well. Anyway, I'll be sure to do updates about the designs and what will mail out when once we start working on the rewards after ship.

Watching all your videos about Kickstarter, I think I've come to realize that KS projects are not as easy as I think a lot of developers initially think.

Yes, you have the freedom to create something free from the judging eyes of a publisher, but the trade-off there is that, if you do it right, you have to engage in a constant balancing act between what you pitched in your campaign and what you find to be feasibly possible. On top of that, you need to keep up your relationship with the community so that they feel included in the project!

On the whole, I think you're putting in the most effort out of any Kickstarters I've seen (to be fair, I think Lobodestroyo is really community driven too. I backed, but I have not even loaded up their forums to glance). But, as a backer, I really appreciate your commitment, and if other people share the same mindset as me, I know I'm not going to hesitate to back your next project should you take it to KS.

I have a theory that a lot of the developers who "take the money and run" so-to-speak don't end up with very happy communities, and that may harm their ability to gather funds in the long run.

In summary, just from my observations, it appears to me that KS is certainly not "easy" funding. It's a source of funding with a LOT of creative freedom, but with a really high degree of maintenance. Would you say your experience supports or contradicts my suspicion?

That being said, I hope you write something twisted on my poster and I'm thrilled to see my digital death site.

Personally I'm fine with waiting for all the rewards I pledged for (The soundtrack and Designers Notebook in my case!) considering I'd rather that you'd put more time into achieving your deadline for the games release as I know that's important for the success of it. Though I could understand that some people might be slightly peeved, I think that the majority would see why you'd release all the Kickstarter rewards post release :)

I think I was pretty up front that the game would come first and he other rewards would come next, but perhaps I wasn't clear enough. Either way, assuming we hit late September, that would probably be the least delayed kickstarter game project ever. :) Basically that would be on schedule (although granted one month later than we said in our reward because we didn't work through the month we ran the kickstarter).

I was checking in on Asylum today, and not only was their original release date in December, but they have since started rewrite in Unity instead of their own engine, so I don't think it'll be release soon. I'm not trying to be critical, but I feel like backers are pretty understanding with delays. :)

Yes very early on I remember you making it clear the physical rewards would come last. I think even on the KS page you stated that as the due date.

I bet no one is gonna bitch about the physical rewards. They all want the game first and foremost! :)

Some of the physical rewards are impossible until the game is done anyways like the art book. I imagine people want concepts from all of the levels - not just the first few ones.

Pushing them off allows us to take our time with them and put together something cool rather than trying to just throw something together as we try to finish the game. :)
