Streamers/Youtubers Suggestions

I don't watch a whole lot of people on Youtube, and was actually surprised to see how big of a thing it's become, but I had a couple suggestions of people who have made videos I've liked. They don't have a ton of viewers, so I don't know if it'd be worth reaching out to them or not, but I figured it might be helpful to give you a bigger potential pool of Youtube candidates as the game gets closer to that launch phase.

ZenBear Does a lot of interesting indie games, quite a few horror games in the mix too, I found her because I was trying to find a playthrough for this awful horror game I bought during the Steam sale and she had one of the few that were up.

HarshlyCritical - The name sounds intimidating, but if a game is good he'll give it respect. He makes fun of a lot of poorly made flash style horror games, which is how I found out about him through this video here, which is really entertaining: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnJDqNjJIPs

Anyone else have any they like?

I'll reach out to pretty much any Youtuber with a thousand subscribers. It only takes me a few minutes to email out a code, so I'd be happy to send out to any youtubers.

We might as well compile a list of everyone, just so I know, since I don't really watch YouTubers, so I might forget someone important.

The people on my radar are:
PewdiePie
Markiplier
TotalBiscuit
NorthernLion
YogCast
Jesse Cox
Dodger

Am I forgetting any of the big ones? Who else do you think would be good to stream the game?

Thanks!

I think you're forgetting Squeezie (that is if you're including French youtuber of course), he's one of the French youtuber that is most view by people (in France of course) so if you send him a key, a lot of people will know your game.
He's not the best choice if you want less spoiler and more presentation of your game but since you'll send one key to Pewdiepie too I assume that it isn't your priority

Well, I'm not really sure what the best approach is. I think a lot of youtubers will "spoil" the surprise of the game, but I think general awareness is the most important part. I hope that most people will watch a bit and then be like "I want to play it for myself instead of watch someone else play", but I don't know if that's the case. I hope it is!

Visibility is my priority #1, so I'd be happy to give a key to Squeezie or any major French youtuber.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Well it's kinda of hard to think of Youtuber's that would be in line with how you want to present the game to people. I mean something like that is kind of hard to judge, so instead I'll just give you a list of people that I think might be interested in your game based on my knowledge:

FarFromSubtle (Video Games Awesome) - They cover a good number of indie games on their show, also it's where I first heard about Neverending Nightmares hahaa ;)
Magnaminx - Regularly does horror games
Yamimash - Also regularly does horror games

All the other obvious ones you've mentioned already so I can't really think of anymore! As the rest would just be obvious journalist outlets and such. Hope it helps a little though! :)

A couple more suggestions: GameGrumps - A lot of people have heard of these guys, they're very jokey but really entertaining. Their P.T. playthrough was great.

4Player Network - I don't think they do a lot of horror games, but I loved the Amnesia ones they did years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=env3EtA7KXQ

Brad, one of the co-founders, did those, his contact info is on their website: http://4playernetwork.com/staff/

Cool, thanks for the suggestions! I'll reach out when we are ready!

Speaking of the P.T. Demo, I *finally* beat it now that someone "figured" out the secret. It wasn't quite as easy as people made it out, but I got it after a few tries... I never would have figured it out myself - especially because I don't play with a mic attached.

Oh yeah, that's one of the common things I've heard too, is that you need to have a mic and be making noise into it, which would explain why the streamers were able to get the ending first.

Here are a few more suggestions if you want any more:
