Re: Alpha 0.4 discussion [SPOILERS]

So far, so good. I have to admit though, I'm stuck on the first enemy of the new part. I even tried leaving the candle in the room you respawn in to no avail. EDIT: When I went to exit the game, the window closed, but the music for the main menu kept playing until another window got focus. Also, I h...

Re: Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

I really liked the premise of this game and tried to get into it, however, I just couldn't and to be honest, I can't really put my finger on why, either.

Re: Among the Sleep

If they hadn't have made it out to be something it wasn't, it wouldn't have been as big of a let-down. It's like blindly taking a sip of orange juice when you're expecting tea: it's not bad, but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth when it's not what you expect.

Re: Among the Sleep

I was very let down by this game, so much so that I stopped playing and uninstalled it. I was expecting more horror elements and felt that they pulled the whole bait-and-switch routine. The first level was OK and had decent atmosphere, but after that it turned into just another exploration game. Sur...

Re: Is anyone getting "DreadOut"?

Without reading too much of this thread to avoid spoilers, I did buy it. Sadly I have to wait for an update to the game so that I can play it. Why is a y-axis inversion setting not a STANDARD on games today, especially those that use a first-person perspective in some way? That being said, it does l...

Re: Alpha 0.3 Discussion [SPOILERS]

I'm glad my feedback wasn't taken harshly. I know that striking the balance between enemies remaining threatening and "Oh, it's X all I have to do is Y and I can get past it" is not an easy task nor is pacing, however, the game seems to be on track to do just that. The short answer is that...

Is this thing on?

Horror movies? Hmm. . . Not sure if you could call it "horror" or not, but it would have to be Session 9. Without spoiling it, it has some great twists and an excellent ending. Another great movie I like is more of a mind screw than horror called Perfect Blue. It really takes you for a rid...

Re: Half-Paralysis and Cloaked Figure

I've had a very similar experience once. I woke up only able to move my eyes. When I looked over towards the door, I saw in my doorway a shadowy figure, leaning against the open doorway (which was actually closed as I sleep with my door closed). Needless to say, it was quite a scary experience.

Re: Dialog feedback!

To be honest, I think the only things that are needed are clarity (as in the quality of the actual clip itself) and volume tweaks. Yes, the writing and delivery are a bit clunky, but I feel that gives the characters, character. It makes them feel more genuine and gives the dialog sequences a surreal...

Re: Alpha 0.3 Discussion [SPOILERS]

Let me start out by saying that this game holds a lot of promise. I feel, however, that it kind of falls off towards the last two levels. I'd also like to say that for me, the first two levels blended together, having a similar setting, so I'll address those together. Also, I hope I don't come acros...
