Re: 178 - Getting Press

I think that since there's so many damn indie games coming out these days, the press really does seem to pick the winners. It seems kind of stressful in that you really need to win over the gate-keepers of the press if you want your game to reach gamers...and the reason I think is because there are ...

Re: Vanishing of Ethan Carter vs. Neverending Nightmares

I'm not sure if it would be more beneficial to release before or after Ethan Carter. Maybe after might be good because you want to wait until people are in the halloween mood. *shrug*

Re: 177 - Voice Acting

I know you were busy with many business things, but if you're ever in TX again and want to have lunch with a backer and fan, let me know! I live in Dallas, which is about 4 hours north of Austin, but I take trips down there from time to time because it's a fun city :).

Re: New Silent Hill by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro

Aside from MGS, the other series I know Hideo is associated with is Snatcher. I've never played it, but it is supposedly good. Maybe I'll try it out just to get a taste of his other chops. I know he produced Zone of Enders, but I'm not sure how influential the producer is in game development (perhap...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.

Super World Karts looks to be an awesome SNES Mode 7 Style Kart Racing Game which has a ton of Indie Cameos (particularly Ouya stars) in it. It's also part of the FTG fund. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/oneleggedseagull/super-world-karts-indie-kart-racer I will boast a little that through Twi...

Re: 162 - Next game

Matt I'm really not sure how I think you should call it! Maybe something like <SECRET SUBTITLE>: A Neverending Nightmare. (Similar to one of my favorite books: The Man Who Was Thursday: A Nightmare) That way people know it's in the same family as the original game, but it's a new nightmare. That way...

Re: 162 - Next game

Clearly, you should be focusing on re-packaging the same game with small, iterative updates. I can't wait til Super Neverending Nightmares EX Plus Alpha Turbo HD Remix comes out! I heard you're finally gonna balance air juggling! I think I'll skip that release and wait for Super Neverending Nightma...

Re: 162 - Next game

Clearly you need to release the game only in one region of the world (ex. Japan) and call it NN2, and then later release a different game in the U.S. and call it NN2. Also, you can make the us version a sprite swap of some other game.

Re: Action movie guilty pleasures

Overall, I prefer NY because you can tell Carpenter is really giving his damnedest to make a bad ass film. But LA is fun because it seems more like Kurt and John trying to out do each other in craziness. I feel like the movie is more a big f.u. to socal and Hollywood, which is fun. That surfing scen...
