LobsterSundew from Canada.

Greetings from Canada. Previously I was a cellular biology student but I switched to business administration. I have a carnivorous plant collection. Magic puzzle cubes and films are other things I also collect. Most of my gaming is now almost entirely indie gaming. At the time of this post I've back...

Re: What games are you playing right now?

I've been playing the digital CCG War of Omens . It has been a very good experience so far since the Kickstarter campaign . Below is a single key (Please message me or comment here when it's redeemed). OrulvmFcm5joyn1xOWmp RimWorld 's alpha is what I want to play in February. Back in 2012 I backed P...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one of the biggest campaigns right now. It is a sandbox RPG made with Cryengine. Cradle is an open-world game that is also using Cryengine. Olympia Rising is a Greek mythology themed 2D action game with a demo. La-mulana 2 is a sequel to a 2005 game from a Japanese deve...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.

Now big projects are starting to launch. Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is an MMO from game designer Brad McQuaid . I find a lot of pieces of this campaign are very rough, so I'm watching to see if it will stall out in the middle or not. A $800,000 goal is very ambitious. Unsung Story: Tale of the Gua...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.

LEVEL is a 2D puzzle platformer with a sliding environments mechanic and a demo. That has been the only new project that launched recently that I thought was worth mentioning. The Video Games category is not really doing much right now. Shining Empire has a nice song in its pitch video. Indie Dev S...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.

Midora is inspired by top-down Zelda games. If you look at the Kicktraq data you can see this campaign had a very slow start. There was no pitch video at launch which hurt it a lot. The project page has also seen a lot of improvement since then. Another game with a demo is James Journey of Existenc...

Re: Procedurally Generated Horror Game

Just try SCP containment breach and you'll see SCP was mentioned. I'll use that as an excuse to post a link to SCP-426 which can be classified as Nightmare Fuel . Pacing could be built into the procedural generation but it requires the game designer to have a deep understanding of multiple types of...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.

Most of Lobodestroyo 's backers came in near the end of the campaign. I saw a really big Reddit push for that campaign with the project link showing up a lot when I did my daily Reddit search for links to Kickstarter campaigns. There was a relatively large surge on the last 3 days . A 3rd-person sur...

Re: Preferred Linux Distro?

The version of Debian that SteamOS is being built on was initially released back in June 2013 instead of the more recent one released in October 2013 . Some people are complaining about the use of an older version, but Debian is known for how stable its releases become and this should be a good soli...
