Re: Suggestions?
It is indeed a very good idea and would have been great fit for Neverending Nightmares. I'm not sure if the next game will have OCD as a major theme though... I have some new ideas planned, so I'm not sure if it would work. I'll definitely keep it in mind though! I might be able to work in some fea...

Re: Suggestions?
Last time around, someone suggested something about hand-washing, and you said you would like to, but you couldn't think of a good game mechanic to center it on that would justify putting it in the game. I then suggested that there be an area or level where there are sinks or wash stations or someth...

Re: 217 - Alien: Isolation final thoughts
And, speak of the devil, Creative Assembly just released a patch that added super easy and super hard difficulty levels. http://www.alienisolation.com/news/2014/12/09/new-nightmare-and-novice-difficulty-modes And, consequently, they've been posting concept artwork ranging from really cool (environme...

Re: Suggestions?
The matching thing is interesting. I came up with an idea, which I think will be cool that sort of solves that i a different way, but maybe we can use matches as well. My worry is that if we use matches for puzzles, it'll end up very Zelda-y (light all the torches to unlock the door), but those are...

Re: 221 - Good puzzle design
One of the things that I think worked so well with design of the light puzzles in the coming storm was that, judging from my own experience and that of watching let'splayers, when they came across the basement, or the boarded up doorway, they didn't seem to think "hmmm, how to get past this obs...

Re: Developer Diaries suggestions
I have an idea.
You talked at length about Halo, but are there other examples of games that you really liked in genres that you don't normally like, and what we can learn from them?

Re: 217 - Alien: Isolation final thoughts
I played on hard, only cause the game recommended that I did. While I can't say that there was much tangible evidence of it learning, I remember a bit of pre-release info where the developers said that if you throw a flare to distract it, it'll work, but if you keep doing it, it'll get less interest...

Re: 221 - Good puzzle design
Mostly outdoors, eh? I take it from the fact that you bring up indiana jones-style environmental puzzles as meaning that this doesn't necessarily mean it takes place in a completely natural environment. Well, right off the bat, if you go with the idea of the main character having some kind of injury...

Re: Puzzle brainstorming
I hope you aren't serious! :) No, of course not! Which Siren game are you talking about? I actually haven't played any because I've been scared off by the difficulty, but I was thinking of checking out the PS3 remake, which I hear is way easier - although I'm not sure if it keeps the same puzzles. ...
