Re: Devastated Dreams has been announced!

Fraps is great, I don't use it much but don't regret buying it. It works with minimal hassle for everything I've used it on so far, and you can easily record both audio sources.

OBS is a free option, but seems a lot more finicky to set up, being open source.

Re: Devastated Dreams has been announced!

Seems like a good community around here for sure, maybe put it in the backers section just in case, since the forums are open? I think pretty much all the regular posters around here are backers, right?

Re: 275 - Industry in Transition 2

Yeah I'd think Broken Age could possibly be A or AA. Although I haven't heard details on how it's selling yet, hopefully the numbers are good because I'd love to see another game of the same kind.

Where do you think a company like Frictional would fall? They're definitely not AAA, but have made ...

Re: Devastated Dreams has been announced!

Wow Matt, congratulations! On both the game and the upcoming parenthood! Posting on my phone now so keeping it short, but that is great news.

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night had a very well executed launch. There was the teaser and rumours before it launched. The "Backer Achievements" section is interesting to watch get unlocked. All the recent negativity against Konami's treatment of its employees and IPs means this is a good time for ...

Re: 273 - Development Fears

Exciting, I'm looking forward to the next Kickstarter! You should know I'm always hanging around ready to pop up and offer my amateur writing criticism!

The games industry seems like it can be a stressful and frightening place, but from my perspective, it seems like you're in a good place with a ...

Re: 271 - Broken Age

Good points, maybe that ending was the plan all along and it just seemed like rewrites because of the time in between.

I hope they do another Kickstarter, I'd be all over it especially if they'd do a documentary again, but I'm not sure if they could be as successful with one again. Spacebase got ...

Re: 271 - Broken Age

Did you replay the first Act before doing Act 2? I ended up doing that even though I remembered a lot of the first act, and it helped out a lot; the game really does feel like it's meant to be played as one game, and there is definitely some knowledge you need to carry over.

I'm with you, overall I ...

Re: 270 - Double Fine Adventure Documentary

I never played the original Sam and Max, just the new Telltale episodes. I'm tempted to go check them out, but I don't know if that puzzle style would keep me interested any longer. I've recently tried to replay old adventure games, but have completely lost the desire for most of them at this point ...

Re: 270 - Double Fine Adventure Documentary

The documentary has been AWESOME! Also, good news, they mentioned in update #49 they're doing at least one more documentary episode. I'm assuming this one will cover the reception of Act 2, which I can't wait. I loved seeing that in the Act 1 launch episode, watching Tim and Greg staring at the ...
