I didn't even think of that The end of Portal 2.
I didn't even think of that. Great example.
I suppose the only problem with a puzzle based around some fact with the story is that nine times out of ten there's probably going to be some way to guess around it without making it too hard, and the ...

Re: Puzzle brainstorming
I really like the idea of a puzzle making you think critically about the story, but I'm drawing a blank thinking of one. Can you give an example?
To be completely honest, I am too. When I first suggested that idea I thought about using curtain facts on characters as a solution to puzzles. For ...

Re: Puzzle brainstorming
I think a puzzle that makes you have to think critically about the story would work very well in a story driven game. I feel like if there's more of a focus on characters and their personalities, quarks, motivations, and appearance these facts could be used in some pretty neat puzzles that ...

Re: Brainstorming
So some personal thoughts:
- A lot of Neverending Nightmare's environments felt a little cliched to be blunt, what made them interesting was the art style, but it would have been so much better if they were different from what the most common horror environments are. In the next game the ...

Re: The game is out! Please write positive reviews
Sorry if my criticism was too rough but back here in reality we, the consumers, are the ones buying your products. If you want to get your feelings hurt anytime gives you constructive criticism... too easy! Now that we all know you don't want to listen to your customers, we know not to expect you ...

Re: Endings theories and discussion
For Wayward Dreamer I got a much more boring interpretation of it; which were that his nightmares were just an obsessive worrying about his sister's well-being and the final scene is where he's actually awake and notices that Gabby is alright and it's a really sweet, warm, fuzzy type of ending ...

Re: The Steam forums are bumming me out. :(
I think the "most helpful" category puts up the reviews that have gotten the most ratings/comments withing a curtain time frame, because I looked at it just barely and all of the reviews were positive ones.
But yeah, "too short, too expensive" is a common complaint for the game, but I wonder how ...

Re: Favorite Level?
Seems like "Wayward Dreamer" is a popular one here hahaa. I can understand why though because the dolls are pretty great enemies, especially given that they were built up effectively throughout the whole game. Personally for me however my favourite level is "Final Descent".
"Final Descent" and ...

Favorite Level?
Since it would be a shame to have the forum die down completely after the game's out, I thought I'd make the first thread on this (renamed) board that doesn't involve improving the game.
My favorite level is Wayward Dreamer if only because it's the only level where the dolls can kill you. To me ...

Re: Trading cards are in
$9.02? I wonder if people think it'll actually sell for that?
Still, the game is just that much closer to coming out. I can't wait to see what everyone thinks of it!
