Sociopath on a Muderous Rampage (Warning: Disturbing)

Post by Harry Sunderland »

Hi guys,

I feel weird that the last three nightmares in this sub-forum have been posted by me. However, I'm at kind of a stressful period with my job at work, and I think it's really affecting my sleep (particularly these nightmares I keep posting).

The one I had tonight is still giving me shivers. Just a fair warning, this dream was very graphic/violent, and very cinematic in premise. It played out like a slasher film:

The dream began in a hospital room. There was about a college aged kid, and next to him was a glass jar filled with marijuana. He was dead, lying in a hospital bed, and covered in blood. Soon the "camera" revealed several other young people in a similar situation, bloody, dead, and with a jar of marijuana. The dream then showed in the hospital room a young college aged guy in a hoodie (alive), and he seemed very satisfied.

At this point, the dream had a flashback to some point earlier in time. The people in the dream are all on a train (which is the public transportation used at a college campus). The hoodie kid is on as well. Suddenly, one of the people from the opening scene asks another if they have any pot on them. In general, some more chit-chat happens on the train, when a girl whispers to someone else to stay away from the hoodie kid, because he's bad news.

The hoodie kid looks over (over-hearing), but then his stop comes up on the train. He gets off, and everyone is relieved. However, the next train-stop is only a few hundred meters down from the current one, and once the train arrives, we see the hoodie kid running up to the train. He has a knife, and he gets on.

The dream is sort of muddled for me at this point, but it basically evolved into a standard slasher formula where the hoodie kid is chasing this group of people across campus. The group vows to stick together, because splitting up always gets people killed.

I honestly wish I recalled more details of this part of the dream, but one sticks out in particular. There is one point where the group is hiding in some old fraternity house on campus, which is more like a mansion. They all go into a bedroom, lock it, and kill the lights, and just wait. Suddenly, as they do a head-count, they realize there is one extra person in the room. It's the hoodie person, and the chase continues.

The dream ends with the group escaping campus and making it to a field. They seem to have lost the trail of the hoodie kid, and they stop to catch their breath. But he then drives up in a jeep, and proceeds to capture all of them.

The dream then cuts to the hospital room, in which it is shown him killing every single person. For some people, he killed with a jagged shard of metal. For others, he bludgeoned them about the head and then shot them. For one guy, he kept stapling him with a staple gun, and eventually just stabbed him. He essentially brutally tortured everyone, and then killed them in some surprising, horrible, disturbing way. For some people, he cut off hands/feet.

But then the dream gets even more messed up. The dream shifts, and now I'm in the field, and my mother is there as well. And I see with my own eyes the killer kill both of my cats, my mother, and then finally he kills me.

The dream ends with kind of a post-mortem news clip talking about the event. The news mentions that the hoodie kid seemingly kills without motive. Some of these people he killed because they wronged him, others he killed for no reason, and yet others he killed because they actively helped/supported him.

The reporter mentions that the police theorize that the number of "trophies" the hoodie kid took from his victims directly correlates with how satisfied he was with his murder. They give the example that those that wronged him had the most "parts" removed.

A few interviews are shown with people who knew the hoodie kid, and the theme is that he was always a very morose individual who liked to make very disturbing art. One clip is shown of a really demented clown drawn by him, and another shows a Mr. Potatohead that he replaced all the pieces with really deformed, demented, jagged equivalents (a mouth filled with razor sharp teeth, messed up eyes, etc).

A brief biography of him is given, in which it is revealed that he was attending this university for art school. He recently was taking a class on using Legos in sculpture, a class which everyone passes with an "A."

One of the victims was his roommate, who made fun of him for taking this class. Another was a fellow art student in the class who asked him for weed.

---

I can honestly say, this is one of the most disturbing nightmares I've ever had. I'm still a bit shaken by it. Hopefully sharing it on these forums will help me get over it and realize it was just a dream, albeit a horrible one.

Oh and by the way, if the guy who recommended "The Poughkeepsie Tapes" to me on this forum reads this, I want to say I blame you for this messed up dream  , as this dream reminds me way too much of that film.

Wow! That is crazy and so vivid! Thanks for sharing that. I'm sorry to hear you are having a lot of nightmares. I know how you feel though. I've been having trouble sleeping recently, and I have uneasy dreams. I usually fall back to sleep, so I don't remember them. I actually had a scary one recently, but unfortunately I don't remember it... Either way it sucks! It is hard to sleep well with nightmares and uneasy dreams.

I'm sure with some time, things will return to normal, but I imagine it is tough to deal with for now though. Best of luck getting through this period of hardship at work!

I wanted to see "The Poughkeepsie Tapes", but netflix, doesn't have it. :(

Thanks for the kind words Matt. My project should wrap-up soon, and that will be a load off my shoulders once it does. It's just finally getting to that point.

I actually found the entirety of The Poughkeepsie Tapes on youtube. If you have some time free, I suggest you grab the Mrs., kill the lights, and watch it. It will be great research for Neverending Nightmares :D.

Best of luck with the project! I'm sure it'll turn out great.

I'm not sure the Mrs. will be up for watching it, but I'll check it out. :-D
