Re: Would people want a bust for a monster from the game?
Wow, those masks Adam does look fantastic. The mini sculpture sounds very unique and cool, although personally way out of my price range. I would think you'd be able to snag at least as many as for the customized portrait though? You did like 8 of the paintings right, that seems like a number you co...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.
That was a good dorkly cartoon! I've been holding onto this dorkly comic strip for the perfect time to post. I'm not sure it is directly applicable to this project, but it's hilarious! Have you seen it? It'd be nice to embed, but they use HTML trickery, and I am too lazy to reverse engineer it. hah...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.
As far as kickstarter projects, I'm really excited for my friend Robyn's project "Apartment: A Separated Place". I love narrative focused games, and it seems like they have a unique spin on it. This looks great, very much my kinda thing! Going to back this. They're off to a great start, a...

Re: 265 - 2D Camera Effects
Most of the technical details were lost on me, but I do appreciate how well the camera worked in NeN, especially having followed the development and seeing some of what went into it. It's sort of a backhanded compliment, but it works so well you really don't notice or think about it as a player, bec...

Re: 263 - Target Audience
I like how you think, Rightclick. Every explanation you gave was giving the developers the benefit of the doubt, and so few people willingly do that in life in many situations. I salute you and your open minded positivity! Well thanks! I do believe that outside of the small handful of outright scam...

Re: 263 - Target Audience
From what I've seen in other projects I backed, I think lack of communication is a combination of things. First, most developers are really small teams, and typically don't have a dedicated community relations/PR person who has the specific job of doing stuff like writing up Kickstarter updates, so ...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.
The pitch video for Herald is too long, but I skimmed through it and they say they've been working on the game for a year now, and the funding is to finish it. That could explain why so much is going to marketing. I'm not that excited about episodic games either, especially from an indie. Big studio...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.
This launched today: Herald - An Interactive Period Drama The style and animations look really good. There's a short demo, and the project pitch is very polished and well put together. The goal is in Euros, but seems pretty low, I think they'll have a good chance of overfunding if what they've shown...

Re: 262 - Metro: Last Light
Imagine having the whole storming the beaches of normandy scene and every time you die the scene rewinds and drops you in as another soldier on the field (and your prior dead character is now a body on the shore). I really like this idea! This could be something very effective to see in action, eve...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.
Besides requiring a ridiculous amount of backers, I was implying that non-PC games have traditionally had a lot of trouble. Republique had to announce a PC version, and Amplitude had something like over $100k in donations MORE than if you added up all the tiers, which suggest that some rich person ...
