Re: Apologies for not checking the forum for a while...

Hey Lobster, how's the Kickstarter scene lately? I've pretty much stopped following it since Devastated Dreams didn't fund. That and the novelty has definitely worn off for me, and I'm focusing on other things lately.

Re: Apologies for not checking the forum for a while...

Oh wow that is awesome, congratulations! Google must be an incredible place to work for, I can only imagine what creative and technical things you're getting into over there. Tech is definitely a challenge. I'm really just a help desk monkey right now, so I have a long way to go, but there's always ...

Re: Apologies for not checking the forum for a while...

Good to hear things are going well, Matt! The indie scene looks like a tough way to go, I mean on one hand there are so many avenues now, but on the other hand, there are a lot of things competing for people's attention. That's my armchair analysis anyway, I know although I love to find interesting ...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.

Hey all, long time! I've missed the forum but the activity died down at an opportune time, really, as I've been busy with a new job and studying. The Rides with Strangers project has something odd going on with the funding. Have you been following that one, Lobster? The initial goal is only $25k, wh...

Re: Is Devastated Dreams dead?

Too bad to hear about Devastated Dreams, it does seem like it's in a difficult spot due to the style of game. I'm sure you've heard the criticisms about the gameplay and all that, from the reactions I've seen online there's just not enough interest for the specific type of game it is. I loved the ex...

Re: The active Kickstarter projects discussion thread.

I am getting a lot of referrals from other KS's for this one https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1502497016/the-dark-inside-me I looked it over but.. there is something about it that screams "Not going to be good". I am not sure if it is the fact it is made by a "Filmmaker" who...

Re: Stasis and Fran Bow

Oh that's awesome that you talked with the developer, it's really cool that they were able to make something so good as first time game devs! You can tell they really put a lot into it (including two years of their lives). Hey it's never too early to start the little guy on video games. OK maybe it'...

Re: Stasis and Fran Bow

That's one of my problems with the isometric design, things can get lost in the background clutter very easily. Still very good to hear good things about it, I will most likely pick it up soon.

I'll check out Black the Fall, sounds interesting!

Stasis and Fran Bow

So this past couple weeks saw the release of two indie horror-adventure games that were crowdfunded a couple years ago; Indiegogo funded Fran Bow and Kickstarter funded Stasis. I'm playing through Fran Bow right now and it's great. It's more of a traditional point and click game, but the puzzles are...

Wow, congratulations! That is awesome news to hear!

Did you decide on a name, or keep it simple and go with Matt II? :D
